Birthday Suite by Robin Hawdon
|
| |
Geoff Tippet has arranged a special birthday treat for his old friend, Bob. The treat is a hotel room for the night, a double-bed which folds up into the wall and an attractive girl called Mimi. Add a shy Kate who anxiously awaits her computer agency date - Dick, who has been shown into the wrong room; Bob's wife Liz, who believes she is dining with Geoff, and a connecting door between the two rooms and you have the recipe for a fast-moving and hilarious comedy.

The characters were played by:
Judith Young (Liz)
After four seasons appearing in shows like Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Stuart
Little, Don't Hug Me, How The Other Half Loves and working on the technical
side of many more productions at FMCT, Judith Young was excited to try
something new at HPP. Judith is a full time single mom of three children
ages 17, 13 & 10. She acts because it is her passion and it is much
cheaper then therapy.
John Noone (Dick)
This is John's fifth time performing in an HPP production and his second turn at being a "Dick". The first time being in "Tom, Dick, and
Harry" in 2006. John has also had roles in several FMCT productions including King Aurthur in "Camelot", "The Rise and Fall of Little Voice",
"A Few Good Men", "Talk Radio", "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever", and three
different parts in "Charlotte's Web" to name a few. John is the current president of
HPP and is very excited about the possibilities that lay in store in the coming years for HPP and its wonderful audiences.
Katie Clausen (Kate)
Katie is very excited for her debut production with Harwood Prairie Playhouse.
Katie recently graduated from St. Olaf College, where she was involved in many
productions, favorites including Arcadia, Pippin, Batboy, and Defying
Gravity. She was last seen in Little Shop of Horrors in Northfield,
in which she was eaten by a giant talking plant. Katie loves children’s
stories, reading & writing, her dog Molly, Twins baseball, ice cream, and
her wonderful friends and family.
Peter Foss (Bob)
Peter got his start on the historic stage of Fort Totten Little Theatre.
He hails from Devils Lake and has done numerouse productions in the Lake
Region such as Oliver, Little Abner, Grease, Nuncrackers, Music Man, Oklahoma,
Fiddler on the Roof, The Nerd, The Foreigner, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown,
Odd Couple, Laramie Project and Forever Plaid. Peter has also helped with
shows for Miki's school of dance in the Nutcracker and Scrooge. He most
recently was in All Shook Up in Walhalla at Frostfire Theatre. He also
has performed for Crimson Creek in Grand Forks. Most of his comic timing
has come from years of watching the great Dave Lassig in action. Peter hopes
that all of you enjoy this great show and come back again.
J. Malcolm Thompson (Tony)
Malcolm's introduction to community theater began with "Oliver" at
FMCT three seasons ago. Here he demonstrated a three-note vocal
range somewhere between 2nd tenor and a baratone. Since then Malcolm has
slide downward through a series of character rolls in which this aging actor
has mangled the foreign accents of a mad Russian ballet instructor in "You
can't take it with you," and a British twit named Frank in "How The
Other Half Loves." Malcolm may have achieved the pinnacle of his
acting career when the Silver Follies directors allowed him no lines at all
casting him as the "King in Once Upon a Materess." When asked
about his acting method, Malcolm said, "What I lack in theatric ability I
make up for by saying my lines louder than anyone else." Malcolm is
the owner and sole employee of Thompson Custom Remodeling.
Congrats to all the new members! It's going to be a great show!
